Rehabilitation
The function of our rehabilitation center is to provide the means and space to help in the recovery process of a person who has suffered an illness or injury restoring lost skills that they regain maximum self-sufficiency. Our team of licensed rehabilitation specialists including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and rehabilitation aides are highly skilled to treat a variety of neurological, orthopedic, and general medical conditions reflecting evidence-based practice. Our rehabilitation team consists of compassionate therapists who utilize a combination of therapies, small groups, individualized tailored sessions and in highly structured environment to increase the quality of life an to help patients integrate back into the community.

Post-Operation
Our physical & occupational therapists strive to return you to prior levels of health and function as quickly as possible after surgery. An initial comprehensive evaluation will allow us to assess your pain complaints, range of motion, posture, strength, joint mobility, incision site healing, ability to reach and nerve mobility. Treatments will include gentle stretching, electric muscle stimulation, massage (to improve incision site healing and range of motion), joint mobilization, repositioning, strengthening, nerve gliding, and home exercise programs

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy assists patients in gaining the skills necessary for independence in their social and physical environments. Occupational therapy services include:

  • Education and training in daily living skills such as dressing, bathing, eating and grooming
  • Sensory-motor treatments for strength, endurance, coordination and balance

Speech Therapy
Speech-Language Therapy addresses the needs of patients with communication problems, as well as swallowing dysfunction, by designing treatment plans to address functional abilities and promote optimal interaction within the environment. Our Speech-Language Pathologists design a treatment plan relevant to each patient’s needs.
Speech-language therapy provides:

  • Comprehension skills for written and verbal communication, including the use of augmentative systems when necessary
  • Cognitive status, which may include memory, orientation and reasoning skills
  • Oral muscle strength and functioning for speaking and swallowing
  • Swallowing skills and techniques with the use of treatments and modalities such as VitalStim
